Breakthroughs In Fixing Ethanol In Fuel Issues

In the day that people realize that we’re slowly killing our planet, we have been tirelessly finding ways to replace the standard ways of harvesting energy from powers with alternatives. So far, mankind is still searching for the most effective ways to find alternative powers. This has resulted to the recent usage of solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, geothermal energy and others.

The focus today would be to replace the traditional fuel with another alternative that would efficiently run engines but would emit less pollution. They’ve found it on bio ethanol, a substance taken from sugar cane and other crops. This type of fuel burns but doesn’t produce carbon gases unlike the traditional fuel that is why they believe this to be an ideal solution to the problem. However, like the majority of renewable power source, it has a downside that is still a problem. Here are some from the known problems with ethanol fuel:

1. To create large amounts of fuel to provide the gigantic demand of fuel by consumers, they require a lot of crops and I’m talking about gigantic amounts. Unlike fossil fuel that is abundantly flowing, ethanol depends on the amount of crops which are planted and this means that they must plant more areas of land to satisfy the demand of fuel. This indicates there will be fewer crops for feeds which may lead to price hikes in food and also the destruction from the natural balance anyway. This is a result of the conversion of their supposed habitat into crop fields, which is a bad idea.

2. The crops that bring producing ethanol are the same crops that are used for feeding animals that provides us using the meat that we need. Therefore if most all these crops are diverted to ethanol production, there would be a shortage of feeds and this would lead to a greater price for meat. They won’t have the ability to produce just as much meat because they used to so they would raise the prices higher.

3. Ethanol production needs a lot of crops to produce just the right quantity of ethanol fuel. The ratio is much like 1: 100 or something like that. Therefore, producers would want more lands to cover to plant crops. And where else would they get those lands? Lands which are unoccupied by humans. However, this is the place to find some animals and taking it away from them spells disaster. The balance in the ecosystem of that place would definitely be disrupted thus, giving more pain to the environment rather than helping it.

With all of these said and done, we can’t eliminate the truth that ethanol fuel efficiency continues to be among the best possible options in the search for alternative fuel sources. We have to find a loophole or perhaps a run around these complaints to pursue it. We have seen ethanol fuel benefits for action and we know it works well and clean. So we better find ways.
